Special Education Needs and Disability - SEND

Special Educational Needs

A child or young person has a Special Educational Need and/or Disability if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him/her.

According to the SEND Code of Practice (2015, p.16) a child or young person has a learning difficulty if they have:

  • a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others of

the same age, or

  • has a disability which prevents or hinders him or her from making use of

facilities of a kind generally provided for others of the same age in

mainstream schools

Parental Concerns

At Reddal Hill Primary School, we recognise the importance of effective partnerships with our parents/carers in meeting the individual needs of our children.  If you have any concerns regarding your child's learning or feel that they are having difficulties at school, please discuss these concerns with your child's class teacher or Mrs. K. SEND Surgery

Every Friday afternoon, we will be offering a SEND Surgery.  This will be an opportunity for the parents of children with SEND to meet with Mrs. K. Beard to discuss any issues or concerns that they may have.  This will take place every Friday afternoon between 1.10 pm and 3.00pm.  Parents wishing to speak to Mrs. K. Beard will need to arrange an appointment by calling 01384 569053, emailing SEND@reddalhill.sandwell.sch.uk or by completing the form below.
