Thursday

Today we are looking at spelling the phoneme  'v' spelt with the letter 'v' and the letters 've'. When words end with the 'v' phoneme they hardly ever end with the spelling 'v', instead they end with 've'( e.g. have, give, wave). When words begin with the 'v' phoneme most of the time it is just spelt with a letter 'v' (e.g. vet, van, viper).

Have a go at reading the words and sentences below.

For your activity today, I would like you to cut out the cards and match them up to the correct sentences. Good luck!

Then, have a go at writing these sentences:

The vixen lives in a hole near a vole.

Put the viper in the van to go to the vet.
