Reading

All of our reading activities this week will be linked our World Book Day text...

Flotsam by David Wiesner

English

Our English activities this week are going to be based on World Book Day. Our chosen book is Flotsam. Flotsam is a picture book which has no words.

Blurb: A science-minded boy goes to the beach equipped to collect and examine flotsam — anything floating that has been washed ashore. Bottles, lost toys, small objects of every description are among his usual finds. But there's no way he could have prepared for one particular discovery: a barnacle-encrusted underwater camera, with its own secrets to share...and to keep.

The story shows a young boy who finds an underwater camera washed up on the beach. He gets the film developed and discovers lots of incredible things happening underwater.

Below are two videos. You can choose to watch both or pick one to watch.

The first video is an 'oral presentation' where someone has created a story to explain the images.
