Pupil Premium and Catch-up Funding

Pupil Premium:

Schools in England get extra funding in the form of a grant, from the government called  Pupil Premium to help them improve the attainment of their disadvantaged pupils.

Evidence shows that children from disadvantaged backgrounds:

  • Generally face extra challenges in reaching their potential at school; and
  • Often do not perform as well as their peers.

The Pupil Premium grant is designed to allow schools to help disadvantaged pupils by improving their progress and the exam results they achieve.

Please see below for more information regarding further details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
Catch-Up Funding

In the 2020 / 2021 academic year, due to lost learning as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government announced additional one-off funding for 'catch up' learning.

The funding amount has been calculated as £80 per child. Whilst we are not required to report the spending of this funding (as we do for Pupil Premium), we think it is important to share our strategy for supporting the children in making up for any lost time
