World Book Day
World Book Week 2026! 📚
In spirit of the 'Go All In' campaign, Reddal Hill pupils had a fantastic World Book Week!
During the week, all pupils took part in a range of fun and exciting activities:
⭐ Breakfast and Read
To start off our week, the children were able to bring their favourite books, magazines, and comics into school to share with their friends between 8:30am and 9:00am. We provided the children with a delicious breakfast and gave pupils valuable time to share their books with their peers! 📚
⭐ The Masked Reader
The children competed in a “Guess the Masked Reader” competition. They had to guess which teacher was behind the mask, reading a blurb from their favourite book! 🎭 This was a very funny activity!
⭐ World Book Day Official Assembly
On Wednesday, the children participated in a World Book Day assembly in the hall. 📕
⭐World Book Day Activities
The child took part in a wide range of engaging World Book Day activities, including creative potion making inspired by story themes, designing and discussing personalised bookmarks during guided sessions, joining interactive online webinars with authors and storytellers, and participating in fun sports-themed quizzes that linked physical activity with reading and teamwork.
⭐Parent Reading Sessions
All classes invited parents/carers into school to read with their child/ren. This was a lovely moment shared by all the children.📚
⭐ World Book Day Dress Up!
At the end of the week, the children came to school dressed as book characters. We loved seeing all the wonderful costumes! 😀
⭐ Links with Art!!
Pupils were asked to create a story scene out of household materials at home. We received some fantastic scenes, including Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty and The Three Little Pigs.
