Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, each year group chose a different country and geographical feature to focus on.

In Year 6, we learnt all about Italy and focussed on the volcano Mount Vesuvius. We learnt about the history of Pompeii and then created our own volcanoes in groups!

We took the volcanoes outside and used a chemical reaction to cause an eruption!

In Year 5, we learnt all about Iguaza Falls in Aregentia. We worked in groups to find out lots about the tourist attractions there, the seasons, the climate and the wildlife. We created eye-catching informative posters and then presented our findings to the class.

To celebrate this day year 1 learnt about the Coral Reef in Australia. We researched facts and designed our own art work to celebrate this amazing place.
