How to keep young people safe online while at home.

Dear Parents and Carers, 

During the school closures, there are a number of great online educational platforms you may wish to access with your child. The list below details a number of great sites that will help you keep your child stimulated and learning. Our school subscribes to both 'Mathletics' and 'Times Table Rock Stars' and your child should have been issued with a username and password for both. If you are experiencing problems logging in to either Mathletics or Times Table Rockstars, please contact stephen.pender@reddalhill.sandwell.sch.uk. 

The other sites listed below offer a range of age related activities for your child. Many companies are offering free access to these sites for the period of school closures; an opportunity not be missed! 

  • Mathletics A great Maths based website that Reddal Hill subscribes to. Please access the website with your child's username and password.
  • Times Table Rockstars A great way to practise times tables with your child. Please log in to the website using your child's username and password.
  • Classroom Secrets Maths and reading home learning packages for schools and parents to use during school closures. Download directly from the site.
  • Twinkl A fantastic resource with curriculum related activities, being provided free of charge during the school closures.
  • Phonics Play Phonics Play are currently offering free resources to children during the school closures. This site offers a great way for our younger children to practise their phonics.
  • Topmarks Topmarks offers a wide range of resources to help with learning.
  • BBC Bite Size Always a great site to access free educational resources! Click on the link to access the the 'Primary' section of the site.
  • Komodo Maths Komodo Maths is an award winning site that is currently offering FREE subscription for the duration of school closures. You need to sign up to gain free access.
  • Walkabouts Aimed at children up to Year 3, Walkabouts offer interactive videos whereby children get up and move whilst learning. It's interactive, fun and at the moment - FREE! It's a US site, so just remember to do the conversion for the year groups but it's all relevant and entertaining to use. No need to sign up, just use the following log-ins: Reception - Username: PKfree / Year 1 -Username: Kfree / Year 2 - Username: 1free / Year 3 - Username: 2free. The password for all log-ins is walkabouts.
  • Go Noodle If your children are getting restless and need to expend a bit of energy, Go Noodle is what you need! It's a site that offers lots of energetic activities that your child can do. It's completely FREE for the standard package.
