CAMHS

Sandwell CAMHS is a specialist mental health service commissioned to provide support to children, young people and their families who experience social, emotional or mental health difficulties.  Support is given to children and young people aged 5-18 years of age registered with a Sandwell GP.  

 

If your child is known to Sandwell CAMHS, they may be supported by one or more of the following professionals: 

  • psychiatric nurse, 
  • family therapist, 
  • occupational therapist, 
  • psychiatrist, 
  • psychologist, 
  • psychotherapist, 
  • social worker. 

 

A referral to CAMHS has to be made by one of the following professionals: 

  • GP, 
  • social worker, 
  • health visitor, 
  • paediatrician, 
  • hospital doctor, 
  • paediatric occupational therapist, 
  • school nurse, 
  • social professionals. 

 

Referrals to CAMHS cannot currently be made by parents.
