Lesson Focus

The focus for this activity is to encourage children to understand the negative form such as words like no, not and isn't.

Click on the link below to print pictures or you can find these in your home learning pack. Cut them out to make it easier! 


You could start off by choosing two pictures for example; swimming and sleeping. 

Ask your child "who is not sleeping?" and see if they can identify the picture of the person swimming as they not asleep. 

Use different pictures and you could increase the amount of pictures you show your child each time. 


Try these: 


Who is not reading? 

Who isn't walking? 

Are they eating? 

Who is not drinking? 

Who isn't sleeping? 

Are they playing?
