Hi Nursery!

We hope you all had a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you all back in Nursery on Thursday!

To keep you busy over the next few days please watch the video clips from Miss Claridge and Miss Phipps for your lessons. You will also find activities below for you to complete that can be accessed online, printed out or collected from school.

Please make sure you send pictures of what activities you have done to 2Simple using the email address:

If you need any help or have any questions, you can email the Nursery email address:

See you all very soon!

Fine Motor Activities

Please support your child to try out some of these different fine motor activities.

The purpose of these activities is to help strengthen the muscles that control the hand, fingers and thumb as these help children perform self-care and every day tasks such as feeding themselves and buttoning and zipping clothing. These activities also play a crucial role in preparing children for writing!

Please see examples of the activities below. Don't forget to send in photos!

Leaf cutting

Collect leaves from the garden or a park and use scissors to practise cutting!

Provide a jigsaw for your child and see if they can place the pieces back together in the correct order.

How's The Weather?

Can you talk about what the weather is like outside and sing along to the song?

Days of the week

Discuss what day it is today and the different days of the week. Can you sing along to the music?

In our phonics lessons we have previously explored environmental sounds and objects that make a noise. Can you explore the house and see if you can find any objects that make different sounds?

Some examples from Nursery are;

  • Crisp packet
  •  Car keys
  • Foil
  • Bubble wrap

Remember to take a photo or write a list of the objects you have found and email them to us!

Nursery focus number this week is 8. Can you find 8 objects in you hoMe?

For maths this week we are also focusing on comparing two sets of objects using the language same, more and less.

Try out this activity of sticking the same amount of cookies on 2 plates and then try sticking more than 2 cookies on a plate.

Print out these sheets at home or collect from school. Additionally you could use real plates and biscuits or different objects around the house!
